Are these X rays dangerous?
You might wonder why your dentist leaves the room when they take an x-ray? The radiation dose for small dental x-rays is small but your dentist is taking x-rays all the time and the dose adds up. To give you an idea, for you, the radiation dose of two small dental x-rays is roughly equivalent to what you would receive naturally on a return flight to Spain. If you are pregnant, your dentist would try to avoid taking x-rays as your developing baby is much more sensitive to radiation. If you think you are pregnant, let your dentist know – it is probably possible to put off taking them until after you have had your baby.
